Rome, Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Italy
Commerciale - Co-Working
English Description:
Dear Client,
In this project, the renovation and adaptive reuse approach focused on preserving the integrity of the existing structure while redefining its functionality. The design emphasizes minimal demolition, with strategic interventions to enhance spatial flow and usability. The centerpiece of the redesign is the reimagined main staircase, which now creates a more open and welcoming space. This feature enhances the prominence of the complex's entrance, establishing a vibrant area ideal for events and flexible workspaces.
Private spaces and offices are thoughtfully arranged on either side of the plan, ensuring a balance between openness and privacy. By retaining most of the original walls and reconfiguring only the staircase layout, the design caters to the complex's functional needs with minimal structural changes. The space is envisioned as a versatile hub, accommodating gatherings, events, a café, restaurant, and co-working areas. Lightweight, modular partitions and adaptable furniture enable effortless reconfiguration, ensuring the interior remains dynamic and multifunctional.
Materials and Atmosphere
The entrance exudes a welcoming and modern appeal, blending concrete and wood with thoughtfully designed lighting elements. Light, neutral tones amplify the sense of spaciousness, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere. The furniture design prioritizes multifunctionality, with each piece serving as both a functional element and a decorative feature, available in a variety of color palettes to complement the overall aesthetic.
Reception and Spatial Organization
The reception area is strategically positioned to provide clear sightlines and direct access to the main entrance. Located near the offices and private spaces, it ensures efficient navigation and a seamless visitor experience.
Lighting Design
The lighting scheme is a masterful blend of functionality and elegance, creating an inviting, dynamic, and refined ambiance. Soft linear and panel lighting provide uniform illumination, fostering a harmonious environment, while focused spotlights deliver task-specific lighting for enhanced productivity. Decorative concealed lighting adds a layer of sophistication, accentuating the aesthetic appeal and creating visually captivating spaces. This balanced approach ensures a comfortable, adaptable, and aesthetically pleasing experience for all users.
This thoughtful integration of materials, layout, and lighting transforms the complex into a multifunctional space, perfectly balancing utility and design.
