The project foresees the interior decoration of a recently refurbished apartment in the heart of Ortygia, the historical center of Syracuse (along the Eastern coast of Sicily).
Renovation works have been just completed.
The unit is located at the ground floor at the corner between two roads. The living room/kitchen serves also as the entrance, thanks to two doors allowing access from both streets. There are two (double) bedrooms, both equipped with a mezzanine floor, which could be potentially used for relaxing and additional sleeping space (in particular, we would like to provide 2 sleeping spots for each mezzanine without occupying too much space).
As you can see from the pictures, the water-heating system was positioned on the mezzanine wall of bedroom B. Moreover, some pipes are positioned on both mezzanines’ floors, in proximity to walls. Nice ideas to overcome these ugly aesthetic issues are very welcomed!
The house is conceived for tourism purposes, striving for space efficiency and great attention to an elegant modern atmosphere within the magic context of Ortygia, the ancient greek area of the city.
Ps. The neighborhood generally suffer from high humidity levels, due to the proximity to the sea.
