As per the brief requirements & our brief discussion, the primary intention behind the new spatial arrangement is;
• Corridor - To allow in more natural sunlight into the “back” area of the apartment, I have demolished the back walls – removing that “zig-zag” corridor that you weren’t too pleased with - & moved the primary areas to the sea facing side. – But, by shortening the corridor, it will allow more light into the space.
• Kitchen – Provided breakfast nook, spaces for appliances, as well as an option for a screen or divider or even a wall so that when you have guests over, the kitchen isn’t fully revealed.
• Opened up the main entrance foyer, with a coat rack on the left as you enter with a cabinet / shelf for storage / keys etc. - I have also included specific areas of where you could include mirrors to gain the best reflected sea view that you can.
• Left the open living area as is, as mentioned, and added in a space for the study nook (facing the sea view) as well as options you could consider for a type of folding / extendable table & how it may interact within that space.
