The office concept is guided under the new design trend Activity Based Working
(ABW).
ABW is based on the premise that no employee ‘owns’ or has an assigned workstation. Rather, the broader workspace provides employees with a variety of predetermined activity areas that allow them to conduct specific tasks including learning, focusing, collaborating and socializing.
The concept of ABW is becoming increasingly popular as organizations are adopting flexible workplaces and practices. This includes creating virtual offices for employees, enabling them to work anywhere anytime through removing technology boundaries and providing optimal communication tools through voice and video.
Some benefits of ABW include:
• Increased staff collaboration, productivity and efficiency
• Flexibility in where and how an employee chooses to work
• Reduction in power, paper usage and real estate costs
• Improved work environment and job satisfaction
• Freedom and choice for staff
• Breaking down silos
• Modern work environment and practices
• Employer of choice
In my proposal you can find that the space is divided in:
1. Quiet Area (Individual and high focused work): Private offices
2. Open Work Area (Low and semi focused work. Individual and person-to-person collaboration): Indoor and Outdoor co-working desk.
3. Collaboration Area (Low and semi focused work. Collaboration with others in group): Indoor and Outdoor conference room.
4. Square Area (Socialize and collaborate in a relaxed and creative atmosphere): All the lounging areas of the space.
On the other hand; the remain details of the project are the following:
Style/Design:
Industrial and contemporary design with some light colors that make the space cozy and modern.
Outdoor:
For the terrace entrance, i propose a water path with concrete steps and anti-slippery tile stone floor with wood texture (the tile is more durable than wood or synthetic deck floor). At the end of the entrance path, two vertical gardens create an cozy and fresh welcome to clients and employees. Next to the reception desk there is waterfall wall with mosaic blue tiles. The main areas of the terrace are cover by a aluminium pergola with fabric ceiling, that can be retractil as you wish.
The back terrace is proposed as a lounge, open work and meeting areas for coworkers or clients with same finished schema as the front terrace.
Indoor:
At the right side of the main entrance, there is a conference room for 8 people in a glass division with black structure. The chairs have a touch of color in order to give a warmer space.
In the center of the office, i proposed 2 colorful lounge areas with sofas and confortable chairs, and the use of the circular column as a standing desk or bar table for the colorful and cozy kitchen. As a compliment for the lounge area there is a upholstered niche with an optional TV space.
For the open work area, i propose a brick veneer wall and 2 separate open work deks as a easy access to any employee to the work space.
For the private offices i proposed glass division with black structure (industrial style) and L shape desks.
I hope you like it,
Regards,
