In questo progetto abbiamo cercato di mantenere invariate le caratteristiche tradizionali di una baita (il legno, il camino e l'atmosfera) creando allo stesso tempo un ambiente moderno e confortevole.
L'ambiente principale dell'abitazione è il soggiorno-cucina, il quale mantiene delle dimensioni abitabili (ca. 20 mq) nonostante l'aggiunta della camera da letto.
Il calorifero esistente è stato conservato ma mascherato con un pannello in cartongesso verniciato che faccia anche da supporto per la televisione. Fra la parete in legno e il pannello in cartongesso abbiamo pensato a delle mensole (limitate alle estremità, per permettere la circolazione del calore proveniente dal calorifero) che possano essere utilizzate come libreria o immagazzinamento legna (vedi immagine).
Per il camino è stato previsto un rivestimento della canna fumaria originaria con dei pannelli di cartongesso. In aggiunta si può pensare anche ad un rivestimento della base del camino stesso con materiale ignifugo di colore scuro (metallo, pietra, marmo), che conferirebbe uniformità cromatica all'ambiente oltre che pregio e valore al camino.
Per un utilizzo ottimale degli spazi, la cucina è stata pensata come incassata nella parete di nuova costruzione, condivisa dal soggiorno e dalla camera da letto.
Per l'eventuale caldaia piccola possono essere predisposti dei mobili pensili al di sopra della cucina che mascherino l'impianto.
I colori scelti per questo ambiente sono il grigio e il rosso, perché possano creare un piacevole contrasto fra freddo e caldo e relazionarsi al meglio con il materiale predominante: il legno delle pareti.
Per un effetto maggiormente luminoso delle piccole bucature esistenti possono essere adottate due soluzioni: un binario per la tenda che ospiti al suo interno una striscia di LED (vedi immagine) o un pannello luminoso tipo PHILIPS CoreLine Panel da porre dietro al vetro delle finestre. Tuttavia non crediamo che queste soluzioni sia strettamente necessarie a fornire luminosità all'ambiente, se è ben studiata la quantità e tipologia di corpi illuminanti da inserire nell'appartamento. Per questo motivo abbiamo preferito dotare gli ambienti di faretti, lampade a sospensione e luci da tavolo.
Il secondo ambiente della casa, la camera da letto, viene ricavata realizzando un muro di nuova costruzione (vedi pianta delle nuove costruzioni) che permetta al contempo di utilizzare in maniera ottimale lo spazio e accompagnare all'interno della stanza la luce proveniente dall'unica apertura presente. La camera da letto risulta così essere di una dimensione ottimale di 11 mq.
Il legno che riveste le pareti viene tagliato ai lati del letto, in modo da creare una spalliera per letto stesso e un gradevole gioco cromatico con le pareti risultanti, verniciate in grigio.
Nelle ridotte dimensioni del bagno ricaviamo una doccia comoda grazie alla realizzazione di una spalletta in cartongesso che crei una nicchia per la doccia stessa e sia di appoggio per il lavandino. Per le pareti (e possibilmente il pavimento) abbiamo pensato all'utilizzo della resina acrilica. Questo materiale è impermeabile è perfettamente adatto anche per la verniciatura delle pareti interne della doccia ed aderisce perfettamente sulle pareti in piastrelle, eliminando così la necessità di rimuoverle.
Nell'angolo antistante la porta di ingresso prevediamo di mascherare la piccola lavatrice e la caldaia all'interno di un mobile in legno laccato bianco, in modo da preservare l'immagine pulita ed elegante che la stanza ha assunto.



In this project we have tried to maintain unchanged the traditional characteristics of a cabin (wood, fireplace and atmosphere) creating at the same time a modern and comfortable environment.
The main space of the house is the living room-kitchen, which maintains habitable dimension (20 mqs) althought the addition of the bedroom.
The exsisting radiator has been preserved but covered with a plasterboard painted, which support the television. Between the wooden wall and the plasterboard we have tought to include some shelves (just at the extremities, to allow the circulation of the heat coming from the radiator) that could be used like a library or like a storage for the firewood.
For the fireplace we have designed a covering of the original chimney with some plasterboard. Additionally you can also think about a covering of the fireplace’s base with fire resistant dark material (metal, stone, marble) which would lend chromatic uniformity to the environment and elegance and value to the fireplace.
For an optimal use of the spaces, the kitchen has been thought as built in in the new wall, shared by the livingroom and the bedroom.
For the possible small boiler, hanging furniture that disguises the plant can be predisposed above the kitchen.
The colors selected for this space are grey and red, because they can create a pleasant contrast between cold and warm and to relate these to the predominant material: the wood of the walls.
For a more luminous effect of the existing small windows may be adopted two solutions: a rail for the curtain that bring inside a strip of LEDs (see image) or a luminous panel, type PHILIPS CoreLine Panel. However we do not believe that these solutions are strictly necessary to provide the environment brightness, if it is well designed the amount and type of lighting fixtures to be inserted in the apartment. For this reason we decided to equip the rooms with spotlights, pendant lamps and table lights.
The second space of the house, the bedroom, is designed realizing a wall of new construction (see plan of new constructions) allowing at the same time to use the space in optimal way and to bring inside the room the light coming from the only existing window. The bedroom has in this way an optimal dimention of 11mqs.
The wood who covers the wall is cut at the sides of the bed, in order to create a back for the bed and a pleasant chromatic game with the resultant walls, painted with grey.
In the small dimention of the bathroom we designed a confortable shower thanks to the realization of a palsterboard side that creates a recess for the shower itself and works as a support for the sink. For the wall (and possibly for the floor) we have thought to use acrylic resin. This waterproof matirial is perfectly suited also for the painting of the inside wall of the shawer and it sticks perfectly on the wall of tiles, eliminating the necessity to remove them.
In the corner in front of the entrance door we consider to disguise the small washer and the boiler with a wooden furniture lacquered white, in order to preserve the clean and elegant image that the room has assumed.
