The general concept of the project is to meet all the needs of the owners, with each apartment containing 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living - dining space with kitchen, a laundry room, and ample storage space.
The chosen style for this project, as visualised in the reference pictures, is a mix of Scandinavian and industrial contemporary living styles.
The choice for a common hallway was made in order to be able to put the living room of apartment B adjacent to its terrace, allowing for natural lighting in this important, central space of the apartment. Otherwise, either the living room would have to be located at the entrance door (with limited nature) or a long corridor would have to be implemented. Nevertheless, the common hallway with its two separate front doors to the apartments still respects the privacy of the residents.
The 3 existing bathrooms in the apartment are kept in the same location. This not only reduces the renovation cost, but also minimizes the risk of affecting neighboring apartments when changing the discharge system of the apartment.
Certain curtain walls (glass walls) between the living room and the kitchen can be removed, depending on the wish of the owner to avoid (or not) the cooking smells from the kitchen.
Building small green spaces on the balcony can make the view from the other rooms to the outside more fresh and special. It can also reduce the heat in the summer on the west side of the small balcony.
Important remark: The original plans provided by the owners did not give the location of the columns and beams in the apartment. This means that the new plans can only guess their location. It is highly advised to carefully check the exact location of the columns and beams before implementing the new plans. The size and position can not only have a profound effect on new walls and ceilings, but even on the furniture concept, etc.
