Project requirement was to convert existing old apartment into a functional and code compliant rental space.
The challenge of fitting a 4-square-meter bathroom and separating the toilet from the kitchen area, as per municipal regulations, was met through innovative spatial planning. By integrating sliding doors, the toilet area is elegantly separated from the rest of the bathroom, fulfilling the requirement for a door division without compromising space.
Addressing the constraint of gravity drains and the limited 5 cm screed, drainage channels are integrated along the bathroom's perimeter walls.
The bedroom is minimal but with enough space for a 160x200 cm bed and a wardrobe closet. The living space was conceptualized as an open, multifunctional area. The kitchen is small but equipped with all needed appliances, even a small dishwasher.
In summary, the design meets the specified constraints, resulting in a rental apartment that embodies functionality, compliance, and contemporary elegance. Through thoughtful spatial planning and innovative design elements, existing space is transformed into a welcoming, comfortable, and efficient living environment.
