Descrizione Progetto

This proposal was developed with the aim of transforming a compact 33 m² apartment into a functional, comfortable, and livable space - within the constraints of current building regulations and spatial limitations.

Particular attention was paid to ensuring all rooms to comply with the minimum area requirements set by regulations. Although the bedroom may appear to be designed for a single occupant, it has been planned to comfortably accommodate two people. A queen-size bed was incorporated, along with additional storage solutions under the bed and / or overhead, allowing the space to function as a fully independent and practical sleeping area.

Due to existing plumbing infrastructure, relocating the bathroom was avoided in favor of a more efficient and also a cost-effective solution. Instead, the space was reconfigured and partially expanded without major demolition, enhancing functionality while preserving structural integrity.

Six alternative layout proposals were developed, each combining the kitchen and living area in ways that aim to maximize openness and spatial clarity. The entryway storage area was integrated into the overall flow of the living space to enhance continuity and efficient use of space.

Even if the footprints of the bedroom and /or the bathroom remain consistent across some alternatives, their internal arrangements vary in order to explore diverse design possibilities. Care was taken to ensure that each layout offers flexible usage and can respond to different user profiles and living scenarios.

The balcony has been made easily accessible from both the kitchen and the living area. Additionally, comfortable working corners were proposed either in the bedroom or in the living space to support remote work needs.

It is hoped that the proposed solutions will meet your expectations and offer a living experience that is both efficient and enjoyable, despite the limited footprint.
