The proposed design is a layout that optimizes the client’s requirement and brief by opening up the plan visually. The central corridor is a vibrant and colorful space that connects the director’s offices and the general office / breakout space. Colours that complement the company logo (grey) have been used throughout. The colour scheme has been kept extremely stark / minimal to emphasize a bigger cohesive volume. Clear glass panels have been used to mark out the director’s offices. Bold typeface would be used for the naming of the cabins (frosted film). The walls between the director’s offices have been made of frosted glass to enhance the sense of space. The workstations (6 in number) have been places adjacent to the breakout space to make the environment livelier and stress free for the employees. Also, this would allow the expansion of the office into the breakout space very easily. The breakout space / lounge is kept extremely informal with an assortment of loose furniture that can be moved around easily. A pool table and a coffee machine / mini fridge and microwave oven is tucked in a niche that has been created. The conference room has been positioned at a place that would otherwise be unsuitable for standard office spaces because of the profile of the walls. This room is big enough to accommodate about 20 people easily if such a need should arise. The toilets have been kept where they are but have been made bigger. Major interventions in the toilets have not been suggested as they would involve a major overhauling of the plumbing system. The entire floor is raised by 150mm for the cabling and the services.
