Thank you for this the most interesting contest on GoPillar, I've ever contribute. Not just because of design itself, but because of all these deadline extension...I guess you are tired of all, so I will be very very short with the words...
1. Colors > It is too much often said that white makes spaces bigger and brighter. Wrong.
It works only for super sized villas with windows all around the walls. In most cases white walls make space grey and dirty and uncomfortable. You can check that if you do not have enough lights for white walls they will become grey the most of the day.
So, that's why I suggested dark grey/ black for the walls and contrast vibrant warm colors for all others element, it will be vibrant at all seasons, while you will got grey washed out with white walls, when you are in the seasons of the rains.
2. Layout> I think that less is more, so I tried to make the smallest possible areas and house, to fit all your needs, and to have some yard.
3. Stairs> I think we done good job, overall, and that you will be satisfied.

Please, avoid this for any cost, they are good for commercial and office areas, from obvious reason. But in homes, they are not acceptable at all. Instead of that you can buy 10 floor removable fans, which can be placed anywhere you want, anytime you want. And to direction them at direction you want. Much more acceptable for home and family living.
Just my point of view, as they are popular from the movies and commercials, when people see them in public spaces, not private, where they have to be fixed and stabile.
