Residenziale - Appartamento
The main design idea was shaped around a modern and minimal style. Considering your preference for open and bright spaces, the kitchen and living room were placed on the right side of the plan, separated from the private areas that include the bedrooms and bathrooms. In this section, the number of walls has been reduced to a minimum in order to create a more fluid space, while still ensuring that each area maintains its own distinct identity. The left side of the plan is dedicated to the private zones. Furthermore, the central corridor has been redefined as a gallery/hall/library, giving it a role beyond a simple passage and turning it into a key qualitative element of the design. In all the alternatives, in addition to a dining table for 6 or 8 people, a kitchen counter has been included. In some options, the counter features a bar section for two seats and an additional work surface, while in others it functions simply as a breakfast table for four. Depending on your preference, you may keep either solution.
I have developed four design alternatives for you. These alternatives allow you to explore the different options from my perspective. Since I did not know your exact preference, but based on your request to have the kitchen and living room on the right side, this arrangement has been kept constant in all versions.
Alternative 1
The entrance, framed by the laundry room on the left and the guest bathroom on the right, creates an independent and controlled space that prevents a direct view into the interior. The side walls, beyond their functional role, provide surfaces for kitchen cabinetry, a shoe rack, and a TV wall. Past the entrance, the spacious kitchen, dining area, and large living room receive abundant natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows and transparent facades. Beyond this lies the gallery, which benefits from natural light during the day and transforms into an exhibition-like, multifunctional space at night through artificial lighting. A built-in cabinet is included in a recessed area, which can be used for storing dishes or clothing, or as decorative shelving. In the private zone, two children’s bedrooms share a bathroom (equipped with a bathtub but without natural light), and at the end lies the parents’ suite with a walk-in closet (WIC) and an en-suite bathroom.
Alternative 2
Here, the laundry room is placed at the center of the western side of the plan. This reduces wasted space and creates two circulation options: a more public route towards the living area, and a more private one leading to the bedrooms behind the laundry wall. The kitchen is slightly smaller than in the previous version, which allows for two living areas—one facing south and another facing north. The gallery is designed similarly to the first alternative, though slightly shorter. The children’s bedrooms are placed on the southern side, separated from the parents’ suite by a shared bathroom (equipped with both shower and bathtub, in the location of the previous bathroom). The master bedroom enjoys dual exposure from the east and south, and still includes a walk-in closet and private bathroom.
Alternative 3
The entrance and laundry layout are almost identical to Alternative 2, though with a slightly different configuration. In this version, the TV room is separated from the main living area, providing more privacy for daily activities. The gallery has been reimagined as a wall library, which not only serves as storage for books but also provides seating to enjoy natural light. The two children’s bedrooms are located on the eastern side, with a shared bathroom (equipped with a bathtub, in the location of the original bathroom) between them. The master bedroom, with walk-in closet and private bathroom, is positioned on the western side, although the master bathroom in this scheme does not have natural light.
Alternative 4
In this version, the absence of a laundry room in the main right side of the plan allows the entire area to be dedicated to a large kitchen, living room, TV space, and dining area. Near the entrance, an existing column has been cleverly integrated into a four-sided cabinetry design: one side for coats and shoes at the entrance, one decorative side facing the kitchen, one for the living room, and one as a TV wall. These cabinets maintain a minimal look while concealing the column. The laundry room has been relocated to the space previously dedicated to the gallery/library. Moving further inside, we reach the private area. The key feature of this layout is that two bathrooms are positioned side by side, simplifying plumbing solutions, while also remaining in the location of the original bathroom. Both bathrooms benefit from natural light, though neither includes a bathtub—consistent with your request. Another difference in this alternative is that the master bedroom is accessed through the walk-in closet. This arrangement is intended to provide greater privacy. Of course, in this layout, you can also create a direct entrance to the master bedroom from the corridor, behind the laundry room, or even consider having two entrances. All of these options depend on your personal preferences and desired details.
I hope these explanations and design options are to your satisfaction.
