Residenziale - Zona Giorno/Notte
Thank you very much for the opportunity to participate in this challenging project. Finding solutions for the existing house has been quite difficult, given the constraints of load-bearing walls and plumbing ducts, none of which could be altered.
To add some privacy, the main entrance has been separated from the living/dining area by a decorative, illuminated panel. In the adjacent space, a seating area with a shoe rack and coat hanger has been introduced to properly welcome residents and guests upon entry and departure. A backlit mirror has been placed on the wall to facilitate final touch-ups when a quick exit is needed.
The main challenge was creating an anteroom that allowed access to the existing bedrooms and bathroom, while also maintaining space for the kitchen to accommodate an island. This layout enables the residents to interact while preparing meals. The door has been concealed with the same timber strip design as the proposed anteroom wall, ensuring there is no visual separation.
To address the need for a laundry area, a built-in unit has been designed to conceal the washing machine, dryer, laundry basket, and other items inside the existing built-in, wall-mounted closet. This provides the most convenient location for extending the plumbing lines from the existing laundry. The secondary bathroom, featuring a shower, toilet, and vanity, has been located in the existing laundry room, with careful consideration given to the service lines.
The color palette predominantly features cream white, with timber tones as a secondary contrasting material to complement both the white walls and the existing Greek tiles. In the living area, shades of grey, sage green, and other green tones have been used, while the kitchen area predominantly features white and brick red, accented with timber tones.
No windows have been closed or covered, except with curtains, to maximize natural light throughout the house. Additionally, the number of newly introduced walls has been kept to a minimum, making the renovation project more convenient and less disruptive to the existing structure.
