housing - small-apt
The main features of this interior design project aims to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that provides a comfortable and pleasant environment for its landlord and his guests.
Spaces and rooms have been slightly modified in their design and layout in order to convey an overall sense of continuity and fluidity to the apartment and to create a generous space laid out according to a day-night area separation scheme.
The living room has been designed as an open and airy space with a comfy sofa with its chaise lounge that invites you to relax, relate and release from the outside world; a unique accent is given by an enveloping refined boiserie in a black anthracite finish.
A central fireplace has been installed in the middle of the apartment separating the living room and the dining room and offering view of the fire from any vantage point: it provides a luminous focus to the entire place and it’s a wonderful way to break up the space without whilst continuing visual contact between those spaces. This fireplace has been made with a suspended canopy with custom made recess for seamless integration of a TV – the hood within the canopy has been insulated to protect the TV from heat transfer.
Beyond this accent fireplace, the dining room can be seen furnished with a marble top with trapezium dark oak structure table that matches perfectly with those of the chairs.
A white lacquered bar cabinet with niches and pocket door sliders it’s the perfect solution to have a bar overlooking the dining room but at the same it can be hidden to provide an open floor space to accommodate guests.
A quality fitted kitchen overlooks the dining room: the stark contrast of black wood against white give to the room a crisp and clean appearance; a popular additions is the counter with bar stools that replace the existing wall, hiding the column and integrating the kitchen in to the open space of the dining room.
In the hallway it has been designed a white wooden built-in wardrobe: its overwhelming white color enlarge the sense of perception of this space well as the ceiling cove lights hidden in the false ceiling.
The same false ceiling would be used to conceal the air conditioner units and other electrical appliances – such as speakers video security cameras and surveillance system devices.
Bedrooms are designed with sleek lines and neutral tones as well as ledges and recesses - in which lights are hidden - to form an indirect lighting that provides an even and warm light to rest and respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life; the master bedroom is decorated in a soothing palette of white and charcoal which enhances the modernity of the space.
The elegance of the monochrome black and white palette, softened with dove-grey nuances, allow light to bounce around the walls and showcase the elegance of this apartment, which are mirrored by the unique and modern furniture as well as the design light fittings.
