The restaurant must be built on the ground floor of a building that has never been used as one. The exact location on of the restaurant is yet to be defined, so this makes the design project flexible.
So, at the moment, we the design project is only on paper, and based on the DWG plan attached. But once the contest is over, it would be very much appreciated if the winner designer was available to adapt the project to the real location.
The restaurant in general should feel elegant, welcoming, cosy and secluded.
We need: 1 entrance, equipped kitchen, storage room/pantry, reserved areas for 2 to 8 people, with a relaxing section (with a couch or something similar), for seating a total of 20 to 30 people.
The general space should contain the following areas, occupying as little space as possible, and based on the standard sanitary regulations.
There should be an entrance with a small bar with a couple of seats, a space for playing live music and placing a piano, a display cabinet to showcase local products and objects with a wine bar angle with a fridge. The fridge for the drinks however should be close, but not visible.
The kitchen is à la carte, seafood-meat, medium-high level, with a modern vision of gourmet food, using local and national products.
A part of the kitchen should be in view, so the the clients can see the staff working, but not the actual “preparation”, in order to keep the discretion of the kitchen staff.
The sanitary service for the clients should be efficient, modern and not common, for the space available.
The furniture budget can vary from low to medium depending on the object. Use of alternative materials, such as recycled objects, uncommon furniture, and objects found online would be very much appreciated. Wooden wallpaper and upholstery that resembles the interior of a boat would be appreciated too.
The design of the furniture, sanitary rooms, colors and upholstery is very important.
One interesting idea can also be creating a different theme for each area.
There should be several air conditioners in the restaurant.
In order to respect the privacy of the clients, there should be connecting passageways/windows in each room plus a bar table so that waiters wouldn’t have to cross the hall each time they’re serving.
Lighting should be elegant in order to create a sensual atmosphere and create a depth for the objects.
The total surface will be approximately 100 sqm.
Necessary parts:
Soundproof walls and separators
Separators that guarantee the privacy of the clients, without compromising the space, and easy to move, in order to modify the distribution of the space.

Small washstands in each area
Passageway towards to the bathroom in each area
Ideally a sanitary service for each 2-3 areas.

Apply modifications to the project based on the real location
Keep in touch, even on Skype if from a distance, to coordinate with the construction site.
Complete the project with details such as the lighting scheme and/or electric systems
Other appreciated material:
Estimation and calculation of the cost of construction in an excel file with indications to the general conductors.

NB This is a contest PROJECT. The following output is mandatory.
PLAN at least 1 An architectural drawing to scale which shows the exact proportion & distribution of space among rooms and proposed furnishings with notes indicating sqft/sqm of each room.
DETAILED PLAN at least 1 An architectural drawing to scale showing the internal distribution and obstructions of proposed furnishings with notes indicating sqft/sqm of each room as well as 2 sets of measurements for various sides. Notes and clarifications are included. Furnishings are numbered in order to better understand floor plan placement.
FURNITURE SCHEMA at least 1 Images of main furniture pieces proposed, remaining compliant with price range chosen. List should include price, brand, website and must be relevant to the positioning of the furniture within the design layout.
RENDERS at least 4 3D image, hand drawn architectural colored illustration or collage which describes the spatial design and placement of furnishings.
SECTION OPTIONAL Perspective drawing which allows for cross-section views, double-heights and any other significant architectural elements.
