The Concept is based on development and renovating your house into an aesthetic and eye pleasing Building. Taking into consideration lowering the costs and increase functionality, my design is based on leaving the lower mezzanine floor as it is and knocking out the entire upper mezzanine floor for making a large terrace. This is cost effective than planting columns for making room for an additional upper space. Yet, an additional upper space was created when making the working space and guest bedroom. This new part of the house should be of light steel structure.
The additional space was used to create a secondary mezzanine floor that overlooks the living space and can be used for recreational activities. Another small half bathroom is also added to this floor for convenience which can serve both, the recreational area and the terrace.
The Bed-board ceiling and the wooden roof should be treated, enhanced and kept in its original form. The upper terrace is of more than 80 meters square. This is large enough to adhere to all the requirements. The terrace, in addition to the outdoor kitchen contains a separate Grill Bar.
The solar panels are placed in the south for optimum performance. The number suggested is around 10 or 9 PVC panels of 2.44 x 1.22 meters area each. This can give an output of about 24 KWhr with an efficiency of 20%. For the panels. Curtain Walls are used extensively. The expanding of the current openings can be justified as for allowing daylight to be mostly harvested as possible.
