Dear Client,
As requested, I aimed to create a whole new concept for your ice cream store. The design concept focus on a new system of selling, were the customer order the product while easily spotted the ice cream on the display counter.
The ambience were created in order to reflect a home-crafted natural ice cream concept, thru the warm colors of the natural materials such as wood, concrete, natural plants and traditional tiles. To reinforce the home craft concept I proposed the use of visual images were the “mastro gelatiere” interact with the product.
The space is divided in 4 areas:
1. The back area is the laboratory, easily spotted from the entrance, where the customer can visualize the process of homemade ice cream; divide by industrial look wall glass dividers. Next to the laboratory is the disable user bathroom with a sliding acid glass door.
2. The consumer area has an industrial and warm ambience. It has a sofa and 3 wood tables up to 6 -8 customers. Next to the sofa there is a tall table with 2 industrial look stools, perfect for quick stop customers.
3. The gelato counter is the main area of the design. The counter is divided into 3 section. One area for pastries, the central one for the ice cream display, and the last one for the cashier.
On the back of the gelato counter you will find an exclusive furniture designated for merchandise. In the center there is a wood and metal structure where the menus and brand are located. To reinforce the sale of ice cream, small menus with seasonal flavors are located on the lower part of the principal menu.
The espresso machine is located on the back counter with additional shelves for utensils.
4. In order to convert pedestrians into customers, the right window is enable to take “To Go” orders. To make it striking it is proposed to display ice cream advertising together with text that guide potential customers to buy. The other windows contain wooden slats to reflect the interior design. To highlight the pedestrian attention it is proposed a perpendicular brand sign.
It is proposed the façade reflect a sense of traditional home-crafted work with black colors in contrast with the building.
