Our first thought was the "First impression"
All who are knowledgable of the arts know that the first impression accounts for most of the feeling, it should be inviting, yet not too concrete. Since the living area faces away fom the entry door, it is a good place to have a row of plants or bouquet. These plants that are seen right at the entrance to a house usually hold a statement, since an artist is a creative individual, thi would be an ideal place for plants symbolizing inspiration or hidden worth, such as Angelica, Birds of Paradise (with their distinctive colours coming out of a seemingly simple foilage) or Basil (with its pleasant aroma)
The living room is decorated with all sorts of ornaments, most of these can be found in wide variety of stores, even though some are sold as trinkets, their meaning is revealed only when they are collected in a group and context. The walls of the living area are plain white, neutral so the visitors and tennants can look arround to find the many points of interest (A stool that completely stands out from the others, a picture frame turned with its back, or a collage poster, or a clock that is 7 minutes running on purpose, giving the observer a strange feeling of anticipation), these "blank slates" can also be a nice canvas for drawings of various motifs, from elegant flowers to a simple line no one can explain... Generally its the small things that gather the most attention. The TV is nicely situated in the periphery of the room, and there are some objects sticking out behind it...these can be as simple as rolled up metal or plastic plaster nets (they actually look quite good, especially when paired)
The dining room is simple. We envisioned a lot of decorative herbs in this area, like basil, coriander, sage... most of these also have symbolism, and whats specific about them is the order in which they are placed. The corners can have a couple of bronze vases, as these are said to promote the acoustics of the space. Since the main element for the kitchen is earth (with plantlife), we placed a lot of pieces made of wood, tables, shelves and planters, as well as whicker chairs, which are very comfy, so they can be brought to the living room for sitting when needed. We avoided metal pieces, as this element is said to exhaust the power of earth. The only metal elements are the sink and oven, optionally microwave and toaster (the toaster is generally more utilitary in B&Bs and apartments, so it has the advantage).
The bedrooms can be all with character, or uniform, depending on the depth of thought you wish to employ. Namely, when spaces are visibly different, no one will dwell into thought to find the differences when theyre too obvious. A "uniform" decor allows for a more intrigant approach. Placing similar items on opposite sides, making small differences in the decor and placing different plants (for example, one room, the master, would have Colocasia, one of the rooms would have Diffenbachiae and the other can have a bushy plant like Ficus). The wall of the master bedroom can be cladd in brick slips to add a note of elegance and promote the element of fire which brings fame and fortune. The bathrooms are done with white faux stone cladding, white symbolizies purity and cleanliness and the craggy texture reminds of a mountain spring, with potted hyssop flowers, characteristic for rocky mediterranean mountains,symbolizing, again, cleanliness. The closets are done in a strange fashion of shelves that vary in colour, forming an interesting composition with the clothes. The multicolourness can act as a code for the tennant, who will know exactly where he placed his shirts or trousers.

The plants are quite standard and can grow in almost any temperate climate as they do not require enormous ammounts of sunlight, and they can all be found at any better equipped florist.
