We’re a family of four; Our sons are 9 and 6. We’re moving into a new home which is larger than current one, as we need more spaces and two bathrooms. At the moment the new apartment has only one bathroom. Since we have two children, our primary goal is to have two bathrooms in the apartment, possibly both with windows.
We would also like the idea of have 3 bedrooms: a master bedroom fro us, and two separate ones for the boys. An alternative could be having due large bedrooms and small study. Should there not be enough space, simply a bedroom for us and a large one for the boys.
We want the kitchen and the living area in a single open space, but in a way that can be seperate too.
We need various solutions for storing for clothing and other objects. For this reason it’s very important to optimize all spaces in the best way possible. For example we would love to have a laundry room, even if small.
We will bring some of our old furniture for the sleeping area such as closets,beds, night stands and drawers. We will decide while working in progress whether to bring along the kitchen’s furniture and appliences, the screen on the wall and hi fi, the table and chairs in the dining room, should the dimensions would be suitable. We have uploaded the photos and the measurements of the closets that we already have in the bedroom that we want to bring to the new apartment. We have also added the measures and the photos of the kitchen and the wall unit, the table and the chairs. We are still thinking about whether bring the later or not.
You can find the style that we prefer in the photos of reference uploaded below. We like a modern style with some vintage touch that would bring warmth to the home. For the flooring we would love parquet, possibly in shades of grey, or oak. In the bathroom and the kitchen, we consider other types of flooring, as long as the solutions are interesting. Although the apartment is on the sixth floor and a lot of light enters, so we could use any color, we prefer light colors all the same, maybe with some colorful notes.
It is important to focus on practicality and comfort in the choice of furniture with two children at home. We are interested in eco-compatible materials with as little environmental impact as possible.
