Analysis

We find the current layout slightly chaotic as it is, enough to propose a crisp and clear, sober & synthetic design, generating minimalistic and cozy spaces through sleek lines.

As we understand both private and public situations, we find an extensive place in need of integration on the latter, and a complex yet unnecessary scheme for the private area, creating an appearance of two separate flats as the outcome.
Due to this situation, we plan a normalised layout in order to produce a contrast with the existing organisation.

Concept

We placed a brand-new studio space between the public and private areas, thus generating a joint which can be used as an open space or become quieter by disenrolling the all-glass concertina-wall.

At first, we located the guest room and a bathroom next to it. On the other hand, the master bedroom keeps its existing placement at the furthest part of the flat, in order to grant more privacy.
Through floor-to-ceiling cabinets, the walk-in closet, the ironing room and the bedroom are summed-up into a unique space, providing a synthetic solution. This allows to restrain the bathroom access as well, keeping it out of the master bedroom although remaining a private ensuite still.

Meanwhile, everyday spaces are holding most of their organisations: less is more. We projected a wide, sleek furniture containing the TV and other appliances, a bar and new storage spaces.
In the kitchen the countertop is relocated and enhanced with a new dining table as an extension, that can even extend beyond this area due to the open plan studio.

We admit the overwhelming impact of some of the changes proposed, that is why we believe in the strengths of the existing layout as well and planned slight adjustments on the things we perceive as weaknesses and not just a whole renovation.
