The aim of this project was not simply to divide a 180 sqm apartment into two separate units, but to design two independent living scenarios within a shared structural envelope — ensuring high residential quality for the owners while creating a fully functional rental unit.

The main design strategy focused on clear zoning, privacy control, and the concentration of plumbing systems along a shared axis to optimize technical efficiency. Two independent entrances were introduced to guarantee complete functional separation and protect the privacy of both units.

In the 120 sqm private residence, the design emphasizes a generous, well-lit living area including the living room, dining space, and kitchen positioned along the best natural light exposure. The guest bedroom is located near the entrance to maintain a clear distinction between semi-private and private zones. The master suite was designed with a walk-in closet to enhance comfort and spatial independence.

The 60 sqm rental unit was conceived as a compact yet highly efficient layout. By minimizing circulation space and maximizing functional areas, the unit includes a bedroom, a full bathroom, and a compact kitchen. The use of multifunctional furniture, such as a sofa bed, increases flexibility and makes the space suitable for both short- and long-term rental.

Overall, the project represents a balanced integration of residential quality, spatial optimization, privacy hierarchy, and investment-oriented design within a cohesive architectural framework.

*Note*
In the proposed plan, I moved the entrance to Block A further in, and this is a suggestion that is easy to implement, but if you don't want to touch and destroy the entrance, you can see the same plan in the AutoCAD file without disturbing the entrance to Block A.
That's why I gave this idea because I wanted a filter for the entrance to a private house and a rented room so that it doesn't interfere, but if it's possible that you want to move the entrance to Block A, you can apply the plan without moving the entrance.
