Dear Client,

Following your project brief, I have developed two design solutions for the apartment renovation. Both proposals are based on the same core principles: improving the functional organization of the space, creating comfortable everyday living conditions, and combining vintage character with contemporary design elements.

The main difference between the two solutions lies in the organization of the dining area.

In Solution A, the dining space is incorporated within the kitchen, while the living room remains free of a dining table. This approach creates a more comfortable and practical everyday layout, allowing the kitchen to become a spacious social area while keeping the living room visually calmer and less crowded.

In Solution B, a designated dining area is positioned within the living room, creating a more traditional separation between kitchen and dining functions.

In both proposals, I reused modules of the existing solid wood bookcase and modernized them by repainting them in a pale green tone, allowing the original furniture to remain an important character element within the redesigned interior.

The differences between the two solutions are intentionally not limited only to the living and dining areas. I also explored alternative layouts for the bathrooms and bedrooms in order to present different possibilities of spatial organization and functionality. Particular attention was given to demonstrating how the apartment can adapt to changing everyday needs and personal preferences.

One of the main design challenges was achieving sufficient storage capacity within the master bedroom while simultaneously creating a comfortable and functional master bathroom. The layouts were carefully balanced to maximize practicality without compromising the sense of space.

Certain furniture elements were planned with future flexibility in mind. For example, the changing table within the master bathroom can later be replaced with a standard cabinet, while the baby cot in the master bedroom can eventually become an additional wardrobe element or a make-up table, depending on future needs.

A continuous dropped ceiling is proposed throughout the apartment to visually balance the generous ceiling height while integrating recessed lighting and LED strips, complemented by suspended fixtures, central ceiling lights, and track lighting in order to create a flexible and layered lighting concept with multiple ambient options.

In terms of aesthetics, I deliberately opted for a more neutral color palette. Since the apartment contains many angles and geometrically dynamic spaces, a restrained material and color approach helps maintain visual balance, calmness, and spatial clarity while still allowing decorative elements and textures to stand out naturally. Please note that the visualizations are intended to represent the overall spatial atmosphere, materiality, and design direction of the project, therefore certain furniture pieces, decorative elements, and details may differ from the final selection where exact existing models or products were not available.

Both solutions aim to create a warm, functional, and timeless living environment that responds to the requirements outlined in the initial brief while offering alternative approaches to everyday living organization.

I wish you good luck with your renovation project!
Best regards!
