Residenziale - Appartamento
Dear Valued Client,
I am pleased to present My intention is to explain the design concept in a clear understanding with structured way.
The proposal is divided into three main sections: Existing Data, Space Program Analysis, and Design Output.
A Existing Data
(Drawing Reference: GA001)
In this drawing, you will notice minor dimensional differences compared to the measurements you provided (specifically 3.87m and 2.28m in the living room).
We are highly confident in the accuracy of our redrawn plan. This confidence comes from a detailed cross-checking of four variables:
1. Checking against the stated drawing scale (1:200 on A4).
2. Comparing with standard elements (stair width, wall thickness, door/window dimensions).
3. Evaluating overall proportions.
4. Cross-checking total floor area
I prioritized following the scaled drawing, as it maintains consistency across all four variables.
B. Space Program Analysis
(Drawing Reference: GA004)
The first step is to find the most optimal positioning for Apartment A (for parents and kids) and Apartment B (for elderly parents).
(Drawing reference: GA004 Plotting Area).
The connection between indoor and outdoor spaces is Core. Your apartment has a significant advantage: of having east and west natural thermal condition at a diagonal angle, which avoids direct radiation yet provides excellent natural lighting, cross-ventilation, and healthiness. I aimed to preserve this benefit for both apartments. (Compass with sun position are included in all drawings for orientation.)
(Drawing Reference: GA005 – GA006)
Balconies play a central role, I fully support your idea of maximizing their use, I have designated three balconies:
Southeast balcony (long balcony along the 2 units)
acts as the primary connecting space between the two apartments. Saving the space for physical internal connection. It transitions from a simple relaxation space to a walkway and a shared conjunction area which triggering intergenerational interaction (Parents, kids, and elder).
North balcony (the larger one on north)
This balcony becomes an intimate, supervised area for parents and children. When hosting guests, it offers flexibility which ensures both privacy and easy access for the main users.
West Balcony (smaller)
dedicated to Apartment B, this placement helps keep the elderly parents away from the main activity and noise, ensuring comfort, security, and privacy.
By defining the roles of them, the determine of the room layout both apartments naturally follow. creating a functional and family-oriented layout.
C Design Output
(Drawing Reference: GA005–GA008)
The apartments are organized into three horizontal zones: top, middle, and bottom.
• Top Zone: The main gathering area with direct connection to the southeast balcony. This includes the living rooms, dining areas, and open kitchens for both units. Kitchen walls are centralized for efficient plumbing and future expansion. Each living space accommodates sofa, TV, kitchen island, cabinetry, fridge, induction hob, and water dispenser.
• Middle Zone: Previously a hallway, this area is redesigned as a foyer, service area, and sanitary facilities. Consolidation makes the layout more efficient and reduces unnecessary partitions.
• Bottom Zone: Dedicated to private spaces—bedrooms and bathrooms—with direct balcony access (north & west).
• Parents’, kids’, and elderly bedrooms are positioned with direct bathroom and wardrobe access.
• Bathrooms maintain natural light and ventilation, ensuring hygiene and durability.
• A powder room is added near the entrance for guests.
• Master bathroom is enlarged to include a bathtub.
• Children’s bedroom is designed for flexibility as they grow.
• Bed sizes: Parents – King (2x2m), Elderly – Queen (1.8x2m), Kids – Single (1.4x2m each).
• All bedrooms include space for a desk and TV.
• Door placements are carefully designed to preserve privacy (no direct views to beds when doors are open).
Overall Design
Since a previous renovation was already done, this plan requires additional demolition at the start. Which is :
Two exterior walls that require further on-site investigation to confirm structural elements.
Several interior walls will be removed.
Plumbing will be adjusted for centralization.
(Drawing Reference: GA002–GA003)
However, these plans were made with precise calculations which also deliver significant wins in several critical aspects:
• Flexibility for future development
• Strong indoor-outdoor and inter-unit connectivity
• Privacy and security
• Health and comfort through natural light and ventilation
• Family bonding across generations
• Energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to work on this project—my first on GoPillar. As a gesture of appreciation, I have also prepared the other’s drawing, such as GA001-GA007, to visualize the concept.
Thank you, and I hope you have a great day.
