Il progetto parte dalle esigenze del Cliente e dalla peculiarità principale dell'immobile, vale a dire la meravigliosa vista sul mare amalfitano, senza perdere di vista la funzionalità degli spazi. Proprio a tal fine, si decide di marcare nettamente la divisione tra zona notte e zona giorno, che nello stato di fatto appare promiscua e quindi poco razionale. Fulcro della casa è il grande soggiorno open space, dal quale si accede immediatamente entrando nell'appartamento. Demolendo le tramezze, si è ottenuto un ambiente estremamente luminoso che può beneficiare della vista sul mare anche grazie alla trasformazione (che parrebbe consentita in base a quanto riferisce il Cliente) di una delle due finestre in porta finestra, direttamente affacciata sul terrazzo. La zona giorno ospita la zona conversazione, arredata con un comodo divano a L, a ridosso del caminetto; il continuum tra interno ed esterno - oltre che dalle vetrate - è data anche dalla presenza di un caminetto "gemello" per esterno, a bioetanolo, attorno al quale rilassarsi durante le serate più fresche. Vicino alla porta finestra è stata posizionata la zona lettura: una poltrona accogliente, del colore del sole, permette di godere del calore del focolare senza perdere mai di vista l'estendersi del mare. Alle spalle della poltrona, una libreria a tutta altezza su misura, protegge la zona lettura dalla cucina. Quest'ultima è organizzata con una parete attrezzata contrapposta ad un'isola centrale: il rivestimento del bancone e dell'alzatina retro fuochi riprende elementi decorativi tipici del genius locii. Accanto alla cucina è ubicata la zona pranzo, con un comodo tavolo in cristallo ed un mobile contenitore incassato in una nicchia, così da rendere l'insieme estramamente leggero e arioso. Due porzioni sono controsoffittate con lamelle in legno, per meglio delimitare le funzioni dell'open space. Una sovrasta la cucina e la zona lettura; l'altra è immediatamente a ridosso dell'ingresso e prosegue con delle lamelle verticali fino a terra, così da creare una quinta vedo-non vedo che filtri l'ingresso dal living. Tutto l'appartamento presenta un ribasso in cartongesso per il collocamento dell'impianto di riscaldamento/raffreddamento e dell'illuminazione.
La zona notte è accessibile dal living attraverso una porta scorrevole che immette nel corridoio a L. Qui lo spazio è stato organizzato con capienti armadiature a tutta altezza, con porte intonacate e tinteggiate come le pareti e in parte rivestite con una carta da parati a tema greenery, così da cammuffarle totalmente con le pareti. Una di queste armadiature ospita un guararoba e una scarpiera per il cambio stagione; l'altra, a ridosso del bagno esistente, permette di collocare una piccola lavanderia, così da rendere più eleganti e funzionali i bagni. La scelta di ubicazione della camera padronale è stata dettata dalla volontà di posizionare il letto (con un baldacchino leggero, che richiama i modelli tradizionali mediterranei ma rivisitato in chiave più moderna e minimalista) con una visuale diretta sul mare. Alle sue spalle il muro è stato rivestito con una partiticolare carte da parati che simula un delicato tendaggio. La conformazione della stanza fa sì che si crei una zona ben definita dove ubicare una spaziosa armadiatura angolare, con funzione di cabina armadio. La camera del collaboratore domestico è posizonata all'estremità dell'appartamento ed è organizzata come un piccolo studio in cui poter anche rilassarsi nei momenti di pausa; da essa si accede direttamente al bagno privato, dotato di doccia, che ricalca la posizone del bagno esistente. Il secondo bagno è stato posizionato subito all'entrata della zona notte, così da renderlo agevole anche per la zona giorno e da poterlo rendere naturalmente arieggiato grazie alla finestra esistente. Si trova in concomitanza del bagno sottostante, così da non avere grosse problematiche in fase costruttiva; è stata ricavata una comoda doccia aperta, con una porzione dotata di vetro satinato per godere dei bagliori del caminetto pur rispettando la privacy degli occupanti della sala da bagno.
La palette dei colori proposta richiama colorazioni chiare e naturali, con qualche accenno di colore tipico della tradizione mediterranea, che si riscontra nei tessili così come nei rivestimenti dei bagni che richiamano le decorazioni a maioliche.

The project starts from the Customer's needs and the main peculiarity of the property, that is to say the marvelous view of the Amalfi sea, without forgiving the functionality of the spaces. Precisely for this purpose, we decided to mark clearly the division between sleeping area and living area, which at the moment appears promiscuous and therefore not very rational. The centerpiece of the house is the large open space living room, which can be accessed immediately upon entering the apartment. By demolishing the partitions, an extremely bright environment has been obtained that can benefit from the sea view also thanks to the transformation (which would seem to be allowed according to what the Customer reports) of one of the two windows in the door window, directly overlooking the terrace. The living area hosts the conversation area, furnished with a comfortable L-shaped sofa, close to the fireplace; the continuum between inside and outside - as well as the windows - is also given by the presence of a fireplace "twin" for outdoor, bioethanol, around which to relax during the cooler evenings. Near the French window the reading area has been placed: a welcoming armchair, with the color of the sun, allows you to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace without ever losing sight of the sea. Behind the armchair, a custom-made full-height bookcase protects the reading area from the kitchen. The latter is organized with an equipped wall opposed to a central island: the paneling of the counter and the rear of the fireworks displays typical decorative elements of the genius locii. Next to the kitchen is the dining area, with a comfortable glass table and a storage unit recessed in a niche, so as to make the whole extremely light and airy. Two portions are false ceilings with wooden slats, to better define the functions of the open space. One overlooks the kitchen and the reading area; the other is immediately behind the entrance and continues with vertical slats up to the ground, so as to create a fifth I see-I do not see that filters the entrance from the living room. The entire apartment has a plasterboard downturn for the placement of the heating / cooling system and lighting.
The sleeping area is accessible from the living room through a sliding door that leads into the L-shaped corridor. Here the space has been organized with capacious full-height wardrobes, with doors plastered and painted like the walls and partly covered with a themed wallpaper greenery, so as to completely camouflage them with the walls. One of these closets houses a wardrobe and a shoe rack for the change of season; the other, close to the existing bathroom, allows to place a small laundry, so as to make the bathrooms more elegant and functional. The choice of location of the master bedroom was dictated by the desire to place the bed (with a light canopy, which recalls the traditional Mediterranean models but revisited in a more modern and minimalist key) with a direct view of the sea. Behind him, the wall was covered with a particular wallpaper that simulates a delicate curtain. The shape of the room makes it possible to create a well-defined area where to locate a spacious corner cupboard, which acts as a walk-in closet. The room of the domestic collaborator is located at the end of the apartment and is organized as a small studio where you can also relax in moments of pause; from it you access directly to the private bathroom, equipped with a shower, which follows the position of the existing bathroom. The second bathroom was immediately placed at the entrance of the sleeping area, so as to make it easy even for the living area and to be able to make it naturally aired thanks to the existing window. It is concurrently with the underlying bathroom, so as not to have major problems in the construction phase; has been created a comfortable open shower, with a portion equipped with frosted glass to enjoy the glow of the fireplace while respecting the privacy of the occupants of the bathroom.
The proposed color palette recalls light and natural colors, with some hints of color typical of the Mediterranean tradition, which can be found in the textiles as well as in the coverings of the bathrooms that recall the majolica decorations.
