Apartment in the mountains

This project involved a full remodel of an outdated mountain apartment into a cozy and functional vacation retreat with a distinctly rustic character. The client’s key goals were to improve layout efficiency and create a warm, inviting atmosphere inspired by alpine lodges.

The redesign focused on opening up the living space by partially demolishing kitchen walls and introducing natural materials like wooden beams, stone wall cladding, and solid wood flooring and furniture. The layout was reconfigured to include two bathrooms instead of one, with careful planning around the existing positions of the building’s main water and sewage verticals.

Every design choice—from structure to finish—was made to reflect the charm and authenticity of a mountain hideaway, while supporting the practical needs of a modern holiday home.
