La scelta più idonea per coniugare le esigenze della committenza e i vincoli progettuali (muri portanti non modificabili e posizione degli scarichi) è stata quella di dividere in modo netto la zona giorno dalla zona notte, seguendo l'andamento del muro maestro all'interno dell'appartamento. Si è così venuta a creare un'ampia zona giorno subito a ridosso dell'ingresso, che beneficia del doppio affaccio e quindi di una doppia ventilazione. Il soggiorno si apre alla sinistra dell'ingresso, delimiato da una nuova tramezza che divide l'alloggio dal futuro corridoio di collegamento alla dependance. Questo muro è stato sagomato per creare una doppia nicchia: quella più profonda contiene un utile guardaroba ospiti, con ante specchiate che dilatano visivamente lo spazio; in quella meno profonda trova idealmente spazio il mobile tv, a cui si fronteggia il divano. Alla destra dell'ingresso si ha il pranzo e quindi la cucina. Particolarità di questa stanza è essere un locale dentro ad un locale: grazie ad una parete scorrevole vetrata, può essere integrata al soggiorno; una volta chiusa la paratia, è un locale completamente autonomo. La porta è in vetro acidato, che fa passare la luce e al tempo stesso isola visivamente la cucina, che potrebbe non essere adatta ad accogliere ospiti improvvisi. La posizione degli scarichi esistenti è stata utilizzata a servizio della cucina e anche per un piccolo ripostiglio/lavanderia chiuso, assolutamente indispensabile in ogni casa. La separazione cucina/soggiorno è ulteriormente evidenziata dal cambio di pavimentazione, con il parquet in legno (più delicato) che lascia gradualmente posto a delle cementine in grès. Sopra la cucina, il soffitto è ribassato per incassare le luci ed eventualmente il tubo di aspirazione della cappa. La zona notte è filtrata da un disimpegno, che funge da antibagno per il locale di servizio, come previsto da normativa. Quest'ultimo è in posizione centrale, così da servire la camera doppia e la zona giorno, ed è ricavato nella posizione del bagno attuale, semplicemente ridimensionato. La camera doppia ha dimensioni generose, così che può ospitare due letti, un'ampia scrivania e ben due cabine armadio tra di loro indipendenti. La camera padronale è concepita come una ensuite, dotata di cabina armadio e di bagno (un eventuale inserto vetrato mette ulteriormente in comunicazione visiva la stanza da letto con la vasca da bagno di design). Il nuovo bagno viene ricavato sacrificando al minimo la stanza da condividere con la dependance; l'accesso avviene dalla cabina armadio, alla quale a sua volta si accede dall'attuale finestra del bagno, così da non intervenire in alcun modo sulla muratura portante. La sua posizione permette di usufruire degli scarichi esistenti e di avere una finestra, per un corretto apporto di luce e ventilazione naturali. La camera matrimoniale è molto spaziosa e, oltre alla propria cabina armadio, ospita un'armadiatura integrata ad un piccolo scrittoio. Tra armadio e letto è frapposto un setto, non a tutta altezza (è leggermente staccato dal pavimento); dal lato armadio è specchiato, mentre dal lato del letto è predisposto per l'installazione di uno schermo TV.

The most suitable choice for combining the needs of the client and the design constraints (non-modifiable load-bearing walls and the position of the drains) was to divide the living area from the sleeping area in a clear way, following the trend of the master wall inside the flat. Thus a large living area was created immediately behind the entrance, which benefits from the double facing and therefore a double ventilation. The living room opens to the left of the entrance, bordered by a new partition that divides the accommodation from the future corridor connecting to the annex. This wall has been shaped to create a double niche: the deeper one contains a useful guest wardrobe, with mirrored doors that visually expand the space; in the shallow one ideally find space for the TV cabinet, to which the sofa faces. To the right of the entrance you have lunch and then the kitchen. A special feature of this room is to be a room inside a room: thanks to a sliding glass wall, it can be integrated into the living room; once the bulkhead is closed, it is a completely independent room. The door is in etched glass, which allows light to pass through and at the same time visually isolates the kitchen, which may not be suitable for unexpected guests. The position of the existing drains was used to serve the kitchen and also for a small closed storage / laundry room, absolutely essential in every home. The kitchen / living room separation is further highlighted by the change of flooring, with the wood parquet (more delicate) that gradually leaves place to the stoneware cement tiles.
Above the kitchen, the ceiling is lowered to recess the lights and possibly the hood suction pipe. The sleeping area is filtered by a disengagement, which acts as an anteroom for the service area, as required by law. The latter is in a central position, so as to serve the double room and the living area, and is housed in the current bathroom position, simply resized. The double room has generous dimensions, so it can accommodate two beds, a large desk and two independent walk-in closets. The master bedroom is designed as an ensuite, with a walk-in closet and a bathroom (an eventual glazed insert further puts the bedroom with the design bathtub into visual communication). The new bathroom is obtained by sacrificing the room to be shared with the annex to a minimum; access is from the walk-in closet, which in turn is accessed from the current bathroom window, so as not to intervene in any way on the load-bearing masonry. Its position allows you to take advantage of existing drains and have a window, for a correct supply of natural light and ventilation. The master bedroom is very spacious and, in addition to its own walk-in closet, houses a built-in wardrobe with a small desk. Between the wardrobe and the bed there is a septum, not full-height (it is slightly detached from the floor); on the wardrobe side it is mirrored, while on the bed side it is designed for the installation of a TV screen.
