Colorines 57 consists of six dwellings distributed in two horizontal volumes of two levels, with a 45-degree angle pitched roof and divided
by a linear pa o. White materiality and clarity on the geometry of the project, function as a balance for the noise and mul plicity
of architectures of the inmediate context. Six new homes make the most open area in the middle of the site, shaping a 35m. by 6m.
internal pa o. During the day, the pa o allows natural light, ven la on and op mal interior temperature for all living areas and bedrooms.
For each house, two bedrooms are the most private areas on the lower level. On the upper level, an open fl exible space with
double-height holds the living room, dinning room and an open kitchen with cabinets. Master bedroom extends with a balcony. Double
height staircase directs to a private terrace for outdoor ac vi es, enjoying open views to the green scenery of the Ajusco mountain.
A sloped roof allows the addi on of a possible studio or pla orm within the double height. Cenital openings get light into circula ons
and master bedroom. In the double-height space, some precise openings frame foliage of exis ng trees and suggest views to the sky,
being the most calm and peaceful scenary. Floor to ceiling glass doors and windows on the living room, connect to the quiet atmosphere
of the internal pa o. A private two-car parking for each house is compact, ven lated and covered. Based on a wide internal
street, the design of the volumes guarantee invariable natural ligh ng for all the interiors.
Geometric purity of the volumes is interrupted by six substrac ons in the upper level, to hold the six private terraces. Below them,
squared substrac ons turn into balconies for the master bedroms. We want to off er living experiences on vaste and generous spaces
on height. Crea ng peaceful environments in con nuous interac on with nature; vegeta on is concentrated in the communal garden
on the lower level and on each balcony and terrace, where wide vegeta on is contemplated. The geometric shapes of the volumes
may refl ect a historical synthesis of a house or a tradi onal house shape. But furthermore they are designed as individual and fl exible
containers, with internal outdoor spaces, terraces and overhangs. Synthe zing ini al requirements and guaranteeing its mul func onality,
lightness and candidness through noble and durable materials. The structure of the containers has only two bearing walls on the
service areas, parcially assimetrical in order to maximize the des ned space for the most social areas of the house.
