Francesco Maria Fratini
In the renovation project of an apartment in the Prati district of Rome, we focused on an approach that balances the historic charm of the late 19th-century building with a contemporary and minimalist design. The core challenge was to preserve the original decorated ceilings, emphasizing them as key elements of the interior spaces. We opted for a design that respects history, using natural materials like wood, marble, and stone, and choosing simple yet expressive furnishings that engage in a dialogue with the historical setting.
The layout of the spaces was rethought to be more open and functional, with a special focus on natural light, to highlight both the spaciousness and the unique architectural details. The goal of the project was to create an environment that reflects a harmonious coexistence between the past and the present, offering a refined and contemporary living experience, yet rooted in the rich history of the building.
