Residential in Istanbul

This residential building is one of the ‘Urban Transformation Project’ of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The whole project, that will replace the old apartment building, consist of 3 residential buildings, which have the commercial zone and residential zone. In the design process, the rectangle shape is create for building plan to serve each units in the floor with 3 side of sunlight, which very important in winter for Istanbul weather. For the first 2 buildings, the rectangle is placed in the way that all 4 units have entrance from the main core in the middle. For the third building, as the shape of site is narrow in the end part, the rectangle unit is placed one by one with core in the middle of 2 units. So, in this building have 6 units and 3 cores. All 3 building height are in descending order.
