Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this competition.

My proposal is based on a simple principle: achieving the highest spatial and social quality with the lowest possible level of intervention. Instead of replacing the existing character of the site, the design builds upon its existing assets, transforming them into an active part of the public garden.

A significant portion of the existing trees has been preserved and integrated into the design. These trees are not treated merely as vegetation, but as essential environmental infrastructure that provides shade, improves microclimatic comfort, reduces future maintenance requirements, and strengthens the identity of the space. By preserving mature trees wherever possible, the project minimizes unnecessary demolition and replacement costs while maintaining the site's ecological value.

The same strategy has been applied to the ground treatment. Rather than introducing extensive and costly paving systems across the entire site, large portions of the existing surface are retained and enhanced. New materials are used only where necessary to define circulation routes and activity areas. This approach reduces construction costs, simplifies maintenance, and preserves the natural character of the site.

The circulation network is intentionally simple and clear. A limited material palette has been adopted to ensure economic efficiency, construction feasibility, and visual coherence. The result is a landscape that is easy to build, easy to maintain, and comfortable to use.

The proposed pavilions are conceived as strategic social nodes distributed throughout the garden. Instead of investing in large and expensive structures, several lightweight gathering spaces are positioned in relation to existing trees. In many locations, the natural canopy contributes significantly to shading, reducing the need for heavy architectural solutions while improving environmental comfort and user experience.

Every design decision has been evaluated through the balance of three priorities: economic responsibility, environmental preservation, and public use. The project avoids unnecessary complexity and focuses resources on elements that directly improve the daily experience of visitors.

Ultimately, this proposal does not seek to dominate the landscape. It seeks to work with it. Through minimal intervention, preservation of existing resources, and carefully targeted investments, the project delivers a public garden that is functional, sustainable, economically realistic, and capable of creating a strong sense of place for the community.
