Pietrasanta House

Pietrasanta House has been a challenging project with the scope of renovating the interior, especially in the attic floor with the height restrictions.
First, I would like to convey my gratitude to the client for allowing me to participate in this challenging contest.
Based on the main scope of the project to renovate the attic floor, the highest points have been taken as the main standing axis allowing the maximum head space while standing while the lower points have been allocated for low-rise furniture. The exposed timber beams are to have remained as it is with the white-coloured ceiling and cleaned stone walls to provide the rustic vibe. The lighting has been decided to wash the rustic wall surface to add depth to the entire space while the shades play a dramatic role on the stage. The furniture has been selected for a cozy and comfortable feel, yet low height by considering the height of the ceiling. The attic floor has a suite with an open living space, bathroom, and walk-in closet operating as a single unit while the laundry/utility space is to be operated as a separate unit.
The second floor has been proposed for living, dining, open kitchen with minimal furniture and lighting to create a unique vibe within the space while enjoying the family events. The TV backdrop has been proposed with dark timber panels to contrast the entire space's neutral color palette while highlighting the main focal point.
