Residenziale - Appartamento
The objective of this project was to create an open-plan kitchen and living area and to add a second bathroom with direct access from the master bedroom. Three design alternatives were developed through the removal and relocation of selected walls.
In all alternatives, the walls of Bedroom 2 have been removed to create an open living space, and the area of this room has been incorporated into the kitchen. However, the furniture layout has been designed differently in each option.
The storage room located between the kitchen and Bedroom 3 has been converted into a second bathroom. This location was selected because it already has existing plumbing and drainage connections and shares a wall with the master bedroom, allowing direct access from the bedroom.
In the first alternative, the living area features a large kitchen with a peninsula (breakfast bar) that includes additional cabinetry and a breakfast seating area. A four-seat dining table is positioned next to the kitchen. A large L-shaped sofa is arranged facing the TV wall, with its back to the kitchen, and an accent chair is positioned opposite to create a comfortable seating area.
A two-person corner area behind the master bedroom has been designed for reading, studying, or board games. To make better use of the angled wall in the apartment, a closet has been added near the entrance and another one in the smaller bedroom. This improves the furniture layout, increases storage capacity, and makes better use of the available space.
A sliding door (if feasible) is recommended for the storage room to maximize the usable space inside. The second bathroom is slightly elongated in this option to accommodate a laundry area. A heat pump water heater is also located adjacent to the bathroom.
In the second alternative, the kitchen peninsula has been removed. Instead, a dedicated laundry area has been created in the corner of the kitchen behind the wall of the second bathroom. With the addition of shelving, this space can also function as a small kitchen pantry or storage area.
A six-seat dining table is proposed for this layout. The sofa arrangement and TV wall have been designed to allow built-in shelving for books or decorative items around the television. The two-person corner area is also presented with a different layout.
In the main bathroom, the shower has been relocated. The second bathroom is smaller and has been arranged differently. A heat pump water heater is positioned inside the bathroom and separated from the shower area by a short glass partition wall.
The storage room layout differs from Alternative 1 due to the use of a standard hinged door.
In the third alternative, the kitchen is designed in an L-shaped configuration and is paired with a six-seat dining table. The seating area faces the kitchen, while the TV wall has been relocated to the corner space behind the master bedroom. The two-person seating area is positioned opposite the television.
The layout of the smaller bedroom has been arranged to accommodate a built-in wardrobe.
The master bedroom layout is also completely different from the previous options.
The second bathroom is slightly larger than in Alternative 2 and features a different layout. In this option, the washing machine is located in the main bathroom and is separated from the shower area by a short glass partition wall.
Please note that, in addition to the Furnished Floor Plan, I have also prepared Dimension Plan, as well as Demolition and Reconstruction Plan for each alternative, to help provide a clearer understanding of the proposed designs.
I hope these design options meet your expectations and that you find them both practical and appealing.
