With this project, I tried to maximise the sense of space across the various rooms. By keeping colors and materials light and neutral, the living room feels larger, but yet still has plenty of storage solutions, from the built-in wardrobe and shoe cabinet by the entrance, to the large bookcase and tv cabinet. The curtains add softness and a cozy feeling, yet are easy to move aside for maximum natural light. By adding various lights around the apartment, there is a variety of ways to set the lighting mood in the property.
The dining table in the living room is foldable, extending to fit 4-6 people, and can be simply folded and placed aside when not in use. Similarly, by using stackable chairs, they can be placed in the "Rep"/storage room/pantry to further free up space in the living room - space for the stackable chairs was accounted for in the storage room/pantry.
An ante-bagno has been created with a laundry unit, and a sliding door to the bathroom helps for easier access in this tighter space.
The kitchen is now equipped with more storage, having brought the wall cabinets to the ceiling, and the mirrored backsplash opens up the room and reflects even more of the natural light from the large sliding doors. A bar table has been placed in the kitchen, for family conversations whilst food is prepared, but it can equally be used as extra countertop space to cook and prepare meals on.
