Interior Architectural Concept for Entrance and Circulation Area – Material & Surface Redesign

Descrizione Progetto

Dear client,
The entrance and circulation area is conceived as a transitional space that mediates between the clean, minimal character of the kitchen and the more expressive atmosphere of the dining area. Rather than competing with either environment, the design introduces a calm and neutral backdrop that allows the surrounding spaces to remain visually distinct while still feeling connected.

The walls are finished in a linen-textured beige wallpaper. The restrained tone provides visual continuity, while the subtle texture adds depth and warmth, giving the space a more refined character than a simple painted surface.

To enhance the architectural quality of the corridor, a dropped ceiling with integrated LED strip lighting is introduced. This intervention creates a soft, indirect illumination that emphasizes the linear movement through the space while visually updating the entire area. The structural beams framing the openings toward the living area are clad with gypsum board on their lower side to visually align the two passages and strengthen the spatial rhythm. LED strip lighting may also be integrated into this cladding to subtly highlight these transitions.

Both the entrance door and the storage room door are designed as flush doors. They can either be painted white or finished with the same wallpaper as the surrounding walls, allowing them to blend seamlessly into the architectural envelope and maintain a clean, continuous surface.

A subtle reference to the spiral staircase is introduced through curved elements within the space. A circular rug and a curved LED ceiling light echo the geometry of the staircase, establishing a gentle visual dialogue between the different elements of the interior.

The relocation of the radiator allows the former niche to be transformed into a small entry feature composed of a floor-to-ceiling mirror and a white wooden panel with integrated LED lighting. Together they form a functional entrance corner, complemented by a compact side table for keys and everyday items. To maintain appropriate proportions within the space, the table should ideally not exceed 80 cm in width, making a custom-made piece a suitable solution.

Within the deliverables you will find a curated selection of furniture and material options across different price ranges, allowing for an informed and flexible choice during the final furnishing stage. Please note that the renderings are intended to illustrate the overall spatial concept and atmosphere; certain elements may differ from the final proposal, and in some views doors may not appear flush while furniture pieces may vary slightly from those specified in the furniture documentation.

I wish you all the best with your renovation project!
Best regards!
