PROJECT

Hello,

Attached you will find information about my house in Egypt which I received in core and shell condition. I am now thinking about finishing it and furnishing it. So in order to do that I would like you creative bunch out there to give me ideas on this in order for me to compare and settle on one .

The house is part of a development compound built on a golf course, its a detached unit on a big rectangular plot of land. I am trying to achieve an interesting and unique look of easy unpretentious living and don’t mind to change the layout to achieve that. the outside area and garden is just as important to me as the inside and would like it to be flawlessly integrated with the house. My taste is modern/contemporary (not space age modern). Comfort and beauty is paramount for me.

I would like to pay particular attention to the bathrooms and the kitchen, they should be a unique. I like entertaining and would like the show kitchen ( also would be useful to have a small dirty kitchen should be closed in and accessible) to be particularly integrated with the rest of the house and to be a social point. I am also ready to sacrifice the bedroom next to the master bedroom to make a small back up family room when entertaining, and to expand the master bathroom and/or create more closet space which is too small currently.

Also I would like to utilize the court yard to the maximum effect to be as if it flows through the house and to have a big communal table/seating for fresco dinning /lunch/ breakfast (it would also be nice to have a olive tree or so in that area)

From the plans you will see that there is a covered terrace at the end of the house with another terrace on top. I would like to make the covered terrace indoor and integrate it with the house as a cozy bar/light cooking station. I imagine the pool will be surrounding it.

Also I will look to install pool (I haven’t figured out where) and would like a gazebo/bar/lounge at the corner of the garden.

Basement

Here i would like to make the basement (2.7m height) as a separate flat (two or three bedrooms) that I can rent out. Its currently an English court which i would like to expand width wide (i can easily add 4 meters in width) to give it breathing room and install a garden or small dip pool. one feature to consider is to make the stairway leading to the basement wider which will upgrade it.

I hope I have conveyed some sort of direction for you guys to work on. Please don't be shy to suggest other alternatives or internal demolitions (cant change much in the facade), I am certainly looking for creativity.
