Esterno - Giardino
Taking into account all the specifications of the project, I decided to design the house's courtyard as an extension of it and not as a separate foreign space. I preserved the location of the outdoor kitchen and the WC as in the posted design proposal. I added a small pool, protected by a pergola-roof, so that it can be used in different seasons. Next, I took advantage of the space between the two stairs by placing an outdoor seating area below ground level. In this way, I separated the spaces of different uses by creating different height levels. Then I designed a training area, installing a covered multi-purpose court. Last but not least, I designed a waterproof and covered space, which can serve as the owner's outdoor office and an external storage area. The choice of materials was made due to the owners' need to create a traditional courtyard. Wood, stone, and reinforced concrete dominate both the outdoor kitchen and the construction of the pergola and the coverings of the various zones. For the ground, the use of an artificial, economical lawn is recommended to minimize courtyard maintenance, while wooden panels are suggested around the pool and kitchen area. The same logic was followed in the selection of the furniture, keeping wood as the main material and earthy tones as the color choices.
