housing - small-apt
TaAG Arquitectura Arq. Gerardo Ayala García de Quevedo
Due to the small land available for the project, our proposal raises the possibility of developing a vertical scheme in order to potentiate the spatial quality of our small house, generating double heights, overhead lighting and the necesary privacy to cohabit two houses on the same property .
The first decision of project is to develop the space in two floors and a mezzanine: The ground floor contains the day program, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and a small terrace. In the Mezzanine is used as a study (filter between the day program and the private space) and in the upper floor is located the bedroom with bathroom.
We propose to alocate the stairs enclosed to the wall in the adjacent extreme to existing housing, generating a large bookcase and a triple-height closet multiplying the storage capacity of the house. With this scheme we can redeem 85% of the plant to potentiate the usable area of the land.
The house is conceived as a large wooden box coated with specific and studied holes for proper lighting and ventilation taking care of the privacy of spaces depending on the specific use.
The objective is to generate free plants without intermediate supports and with careful design of furniture "tailor-made" where doors are staying in the same furniture, there will be extendable tables and several storage spaces giving the needed flexibility and functionality that requires contemporary life.
