The proposed renovation aims to create a more functional layout suited to the family’s needs, while combining vintage and modern design elements.
At the entrance, a cloakroom and storage area are introduced for better organization. The existing full-height solid wood cabinet/bookcase will be refurbished and reused in both the living room and foyer, preserving its character while giving it a more updated look.
The living room and kitchen are designed to feel connected, with a glass partition separating the kitchen while still allowing light and openness. The kitchen includes a bar nook, dedicated pantry cabinets, and enough space for a small family.
In the master bedroom, I added a baby changing area near the bed, combined with the wardrobe. In the future, this can be converted into a low cabinet for the master’s clothing.
The larger bedroom is designed as the children’s room, with a bunk bed to allow more play space, plus a study area for two.
The layout also includes two small fully equipped bathrooms and a laundry area. The overall design uses pastel colours with bold accents, herringbone parquet flooring, wallpaper, and refurbished wood elements to create a warm vintage-modern home.
