I imagine the design would (and should) be simple and practical, with minimizing works as possible.

Lots of walls be removed on the ground floor, i.e. merging toilet under the stairs, and combining living room and pantry.

And some walls shifted or removed in second floor, so that the main bedroom has its own bathroom and walk in closet.
