Thank you for inviting us to design your space. Our concept for your basement space is extremely elegant and functional. The theme that we are proposing incorporates your passion for the underwater world and for the aquariums. For the decoration we displayed giant art canvas (wwwicanvas.com) and wall paper mural (www.art.com), giving to space modernity, elegance and decorative homogeneity.
The space has been divided in three part by glass wall partition and big sliding doors.
We create for the part 2 space an intermediate floor, a mezzanine structure that allows you to add additional square footage.
Mezzanine are quickly becoming an incredibly popular addition in modern homes and can be use as a kid area to play, giving separation from the main space.
The material selected for the floor is dark parquet in brazilian cherry (3/4x 3-3/4) with a nice textural effect (www.weshipfloors.com) and for the wall we selected dark color paint, playing with contrast of light and color from the aquarium and the art wall paper.
