Description

The design intent is to build a sophisticated yet elegant space. The design fulfills the client’s requirement and various spaces have been accommodated to optimize the floor plan. In the apartment, the spaces have been redistributed in accordance to the sun direction (considering it a factor of natural heat gains and light). The living room and kitchen have been designed in the southern part of the apartment to maximize thermal comfort- receiving sunlight till noon. The two bedrooms have been placed in the north of the apartment.
The design vocabulary is industrial / minimal with an earthy palette- white paint, wooden flooring and furniture. Glass has been used extensively in the design to allow for maximum penetration of light enhancing the feeling of openness. The design specifies ultra-modern material, hardwares, furniture, fixtures and finishes.
The entrance- as soon as you enter, the clothes’ racks / shoe racks are on your left with ample space for storage. In front is the dining table for six with an open kitchen and living is to the right-accommodating a sectional sofa and a coffee table. The existing fireplace has been removed and instead an ethanol fireplace has been installed in living room (zero fumes). Along the sofa section a custom book shelf has been installed. A custom theater unit with other wall units has been installed which are designed in way to go with theme for spaces and occupied furniture in the space. The furniture has been designed in an understated and elegant manner. Spacious wall units have been provided all along the living area.
There is walk-in toilet from living room which accommodates shower, water-closet, bidet, wash-basin and wall unit for linen. From the kitchen, you enter a laundry room with enough space for storage.
The master bedroom has been designed with a generous shower area with a walk-in closet and toilet. The toilet itself has a separate entry and can also be accessed from shower area (separated by frosted glass / door). This toilet would also open to the terrace. The toilet and the shower areas have been designed keeping slopes of garret in mind. This particular zone has been designed in way to enhance the bathroom experience and activity. The space at the back of headboard of bed is installed with minimal lights and wall unit which would light up at night. There is a custom designed TV console facing the bed and adjacent to it workstation has been installed. A small seating area has been provided in the master bedroom, a place to have great conversation in private. The second bedroom has been provided with full wall storage units and a queen sized bed with a console for a TV.
