The design vocabulary is contemporary with an earthy palette- white paint, wooden flooring and furniture. We have provided with you three options of design layout for the apartment keeping budget constraint in mind.
Option 1 (minimal intervention / cost) - fulfill the clients’ requirement of two separate bedrooms for the daughters with minimal changes. Custom furniture has been designed for elder daughter's room and new range of book shelf has been installed in the living room matching the existing profile. In order to achieve a visual harmony, spaces and furniture have been while keeping the existing furniture in mind. Two red chairs, the green leather bench, the console behind the beige couch and corner side table don’t fit in the theme and hence need to be removed. The chest has been placed in the entry foyer where one can sit to take off shoes before entering the house.
Option 2 (intermediate intervention / cost) - focuses on switching the master bedroom and creating the bedrooms for the two daughters in this space. In this layout common toilet gets attached to master bedroom with custom wardrobe and gives you two bedroom in place of existing master bedroom. Furniture scheme in other spaces remains same as in option 1.
Option 3 (maximum intervention / cost)- A variation of the second option where a clean open space for master bedroom is designed with an attached bath and walk in closet and daughter's bedroom profile remains same as in option 2. Furniture scheme in other spaces remains same as in option 1.
Most of the walls could be colored a pale white or cream. The younger daughter’s room could be colored in a baby blue theme to match the furniture. A lavender paint is suggested for the elder daughter’s room.
Lighting has been suggested with the knowledge that the entire project is to be done in a minimal cost. Hanging pendants / mood lights with a modern appeal and utilizing Edison lamps are suggested throughout the house. These act as sculptural elements in themselves and present a very warm and welcoming light. LED ceiling mounted lights are suggested for area / task lighting throughout the house.
