Description

In order to create new space, we decided to use several elements from the current space/office and incorporate them in the new space.
We used elements like brick walls, floor colour, window style, furniture colour, lighting elements, wooden materials and other that already exist in the building.
Room is 396 x 1413 cm ( 13 x 46 feet ) long. We opted to widen the room from 11 to 13 feet so that workbenches can fit into the room and extra space between the opposite benches is provided. Every workbench is 36 deep and 72 inches wide. Benches are equipped with appropriate additions.
Idea was to create open space with a lot of possibilities for interaction and exchanging ideas between employees. There are mobile glass panels for writing. They can be moved, so that ideas can move from one person to another instead being fixed in one position. Everything is designed to be interactive and not fixed. If there is no need for glass panels, they can be moved and stack on the side. For the same reason, mobile tool boxes are proposed. No need for fixed elements, work-space is organised depending on the current situation (making plans, repairing, testing, exchanging ideas).
West wall is divided by windows. By this we introduce more light into the space. Windows can have frosted glass so that the activity inside the studio can't be seen.
South and west walls have red brick and illuminated by track spot lights to create warm ambient. Some plants are also proposed to refresh the space and make it more pleasant.
Wooden see-trough ceiling is proposed. It refers to an open ceiling in the current office. Wood brings natural, warm feeling of the space, and refers to the wooden elements in other rooms (cafeteria, conference room...)
New Electronics Product Design Studio is designed as an open, interactive, innovative space, which changes constantly (by moving glass boards, moving tool boxes, different lighting, shadows). Just like the ideas, work process and communication between people in the Studio is constantly changing and evolving.
